The President’s "E" Award is the highest recognition a U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports. The President's "E Star" Award recognizes previous “E” Award winners for continuing, noteworthy export promotion efforts. The Massachusetts Export Center first received its "E" Award in 2008.

"The Massachusetts Export Center has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion," said Secretary Raimondo in her award letter. "The Massachusetts Export Center’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs."

The Massachusetts SBDC is a partnership program with the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Massachusetts Office of Business Development under a cooperative agreement through the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Isenberg School of Management.

"All of us at the MA SBA applaud the Massachusetts Export Center team on this significant award" said Bob Nelson, SBA District Director for Massachusetts. "Paula [Murphy, Massachusetts Export Center director] and her team are the go-to resource in the Commonwealth for helping our local small businesses to compete globally. They are also the conduit for companies to receive STEP grants locally, which can help small businesses to offset costs associated with entering and expanding into international markets."

"The Massachusetts Export Center plays a crucial role in empowering our companies to succeed in the global market, boosting our economic lead on an international scale," said Secretary of Economic Development Yvonne Hao. "We’re proud to continue supporting the Massachusetts Export Center, and congratulate them on winning the President’s "E Star" Award for Export Service."

"This award underscores how the Massachusetts Export Center sustains the Commonwealth’s position as a global leader by supporting the state’s businesses in their export endeavors," said Cliff Paredes, state director of the Massachusetts SBDC. "We are extremely fortunate to have the nation’s top export center serving the businesses of Massachusetts."

"Massachusetts’ record level of exports last year, which quadrupled national export growth rates, wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and talent of the Massachusetts Export Center team and partner organizations," said Paula Murphy, director of the Massachusetts Export Center. "The day-to-day support that they provide to businesses makes a truly meaningful impact on the global competitiveness of the Commonwealth."
