patentJoin the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center and the Eastern Regional Outreach Office of the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a four-part webinar series on intellectual property. This series will include an overview of intellectual property, ways to protect IP, patents, trademarks, copyright, filing applications; resources available to inventors, innovators and entrepreneurs; understanding and interacting with the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB); and patent searching. Bring your questions as there will be time for Q&As at the end of each session.

Understanding and Interacting with the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB)

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) conducts trials, including inter partes, post-grant, and covered business method patent reviews and derivation proceedings, hears appeals from adverse examiner decisions in patent applications and reexamination proceedings, and renders decisions in interferences.

The speaker will be Janet Gongola, Vice Chief Judge for Engagement at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
